SIKA Sikaflex PRO-3 600 ml – elastic PU sealant for heavy-duty floor joints

Sikaflex PRO-3 is a 1-component, elastic polyurethane sealant for floor joints as well as joints in civil and structural engineering. Thanks to i-Cure technology, it cures bubble-free, is highly resistant to mechanical and chemical stress, and is suitable for horizontal and vertical joints both indoors and outdoors.

Sikaflex PRO-3 is tested for contact with food and drinking water and can therefore also be used in the food industry, cleanrooms, and sewage and wastewater treatment plants.

Scope of delivery: 600 ml foil pack, color grey.

Consumption

Linear meters per 600 ml pack (joint width × joint depth):

• 10 × 10 mm: approx. 6.0 m
• 15 × 12 mm: approx. 3.3 m
• 20 × 16 mm: approx. 1.9 m
• 25 × 20 mm: approx. 1.2 m
• 30 × 24 mm: approx. 0.8 m

Joint width 10–40 mm; for floor joints, width : depth = 1 : 0.8.

Application of Sikaflex PRO-3

1. Prepare the joint

Joint flanks must be clean, solid, dry, and free of oil, grease, and dust. Pre-treat porous substrates such as concrete with Sika Primer-3 N according to the manufacturer's instructions.

2. Backfilling

Insert a closed-cell PE backing rod (approx. 20% wider than the joint) to the correct depth. Mask off the edges for visible joints.

3. Apply sealant

Place the foil pack into a 600 ml caulking gun or dispensing gun and apply the sealant without air inclusions, ensuring good flank contact.

4. Smoothing

Smooth immediately using a solvent-free smoothing agent, e.g., smoothing agent spray. Remove masking tape before the skin forms.

5. Cleaning

Clean tools immediately with Sika Remover-208; clean hands with Sika Cleaning Wipes-100.
