MAPEI Adesilex PG4 6 kg – non-slump 2K epoxy resin adhesive for sealing tapes and concrete

Adesilex PG4 is a two-component, thixotropic epoxy resin adhesive with fine-grained fillers for structural bonding and the installation of waterproofing tapes. It is non-slump on vertical surfaces and overhead, cures without shrinkage, and offers a longer pot life than Adesilex PG1 – even at higher temperatures.

Scope of delivery: 6 kg kit, pre-dosed – Component A 4.5 kg (grey) + Component B 1.5 kg (white). Also available as a 30 kg container.

Typical areas of application

• Bonding of waterproofing tapes such as Mapeband Flex Roll, Mapeband TPE, Hypalon and PVC tapes in concrete joints
• Structural bonding of precast concrete elements
• Closing wide cracks and repairing damaged joint edges in industrial floors
• Bonding of steel and concrete

Not suitable for expansion and movement joints, as a bonding agent between fresh and old concrete (use MAPEI Eporip for this purpose), or on wet or non-load-bearing substrates.

Consumption

Consumption is approx. 1.60–1.65 kg/m² per mm of layer thickness. A layer of 1–2 mm is sufficient for a durable bond. A 6 kg kit is therefore sufficient for approx. 1.8–3.6 m² of bonding surface.

Application of Adesilex PG4

1. Preparing the substrate

The substrate must be clean, solid, and dry. Remove loose particles, dust, oil, grease, form-release agents, and cement laitance. Sandblast metals if possible (Sa 2½). Fresh concrete must be at least 4 weeks old.

2. Mixing

Add component B (white) completely to component A (grey) and mix with a low-speed drill (max. 400 rpm) until homogeneous and streak-free, e.g., using a resin mixer. Weigh partial quantities only with a precision scale.

3. Application

Apply the adhesive to both contact surfaces using a flat trowel or masonry trowel. For sealing tapes, embed the tape into the fresh adhesive, ensuring it is free of wrinkles and bubbles.

4. Fixing and curing

Press the components firmly together and secure them until fully cured. Below +10 °C, ensure thermal insulation for 24 hours.

5. Cleaning tools

Clean tools immediately after use with solvent. Cured material can only be removed mechanically. Wear protective gloves and safety goggles during application.
