MAPEI Adesilex PG4 30 kg – non-sag 2-component epoxy adhesive for joint tapes and concrete

Adesilex PG4 is a two-component, thixotropic epoxy adhesive with fine-grained fillers for structural bonding and the bonding of sealing tapes. It is non-sag on vertical surfaces and overhead, cures without shrinking, and offers a longer pot life than Adesilex PG1 – even at higher temperatures.

Scope of delivery: 30 kg container, pre-dosed – Component A 22.5 kg (grey) + Component B 7.5 kg (white). Also available as a 6 kg kit.

Typical areas of application

• Bonding of sealing tapes such as Mapeband Flex Roll, Mapeband TPE, Hypalon, and PVC tapes in concrete joints
• Structural bonding of precast concrete elements
• Closing wide cracks and repairing damaged joint edges in industrial floors
• Bonding of steel and concrete

Not suitable for expansion and movement joints, as a bonding bridge between fresh and old concrete (use MAPEI Eporip for this purpose), or on wet or structurally unsound substrates.

Consumption

Consumption is approx. 1.60–1.65 kg/m² per mm of layer thickness. For a durable bond, a layer of 1–2 mm is sufficient. A 30 kg container is therefore sufficient for approx. 9–18 m² of adhesive surface.

Processing of Adesilex PG4

1. Preparing the substrate

The substrate must be clean, solid, and dry. Remove loose particles, dust, oil, grease, release agents, and cement laitance. Sandblast metals if possible (Sa 2½). Fresh concrete must be at least 4 weeks old.

2. Mixing

Add component B (white) completely to component A (grey) and mix using a slow-speed mixer (max. 400 rpm) until homogeneous and streak-free, e.g., using a resin mixer. Only weigh out partial quantities using a precision scale.

3. Application

Apply the adhesive with a flat trowel or masonry trowel to both contact surfaces. For joint tapes, embed the tape into the fresh adhesive without folds or bubbles.

4. Fixing and curing

Press the components firmly together and fix them until they have fully cured. Below +10 °C, ensure thermal insulation for 24 hours.

5. Cleaning tools

Clean tools immediately after use with a solvent. Cured material can only be removed mechanically. Wear protective gloves and safety goggles during application.
