MAPEI Mapelastic 2KR Plus 24 kg – fast-setting, bitumen-free reactive waterproofing for building components in contact with the ground

Mapelastic 2KR Plus is a two-component, bitumen-free, mineral, flexible reactive waterproofing product for fast and reliable structural waterproofing. It is suitable for waterproofing basement exterior walls, foundations, and concrete components in accordance with DIN 18533 and is rainproof after approx. 3 hours, and watertight under pressure and ready for backfilling after approx. 6 hours.

Scope of delivery: 24 kg container – 8 kg powder (component A) + 16 kg liquid (component B).

• Minimum layer thickness: 2.2 mm wet = 2.0 mm dry, in two applications
• Storage: 12 months in the original unopened container, kept dry at temperatures above +5 °C

Consumption

Consumption is approx. 1.2 kg/m² per mm of dry layer thickness. For the minimum dry layer thickness of 2 mm, you will require approx. 2.4 kg/m² – a 24 kg container is therefore sufficient for approx. 10 m².

Application of Mapelastic 2KR Plus

1. Prepare the substrate

The substrate must be load-bearing, clean, and free of dust, loose particles, and release agents.

2. Mixing

Mix both components thoroughly with a low-speed agitator in a mixing bucket until homogeneous and apply within approx. 40 minutes.

3. Application

Apply by roller, brush, trowel, or spray in two coats until a dry layer thickness of at least 2.0 mm is achieved.

4. Backfilling

Rainproof after approx. 3 hours, watertight under pressure and backfillable after approx. 6 hours.
