MAPEI Primer SN – filled two-component epoxy primer for concrete floors

Primer SN is a two-component, filled epoxy resin primer used to improve adhesion on concrete substrates. It is used under industrial floor coatings made of epoxy or polyurethane resin as well as under cementitious decorative screeds such as MAPEI Ultratop and Ultratop Loft.

According to the manufacturer, Primer SN is also suitable for concrete substrates with increased residual moisture (below 4 CM%).

Scope of delivery: pre-dosed kit with components A and B, available in 5 kg or 20 kg.

Consumption

Depending on the absorbency of the substrate, consumption is approx. 700 g/m². A 5 kg kit is therefore sufficient for approx. 7 m², a 20 kg kit for approx. 28 m².

Application of Primer SN

1. Preparing the substrate

The concrete must be load-bearing, clean, and free of cement laitance, dust, oil, and grease – e.g., by shot blasting or grinding. The residual moisture must be below 4 CM%.

2. Mixing

Add component B completely to component A and mix until homogeneous using a resin stirrer at low speed.

3. Application

Apply evenly within approx. 30 minutes using a short-pile roller or a smoothing trowel.

4. Further steps

Dust dry after 2–4 hours, walkable after approx. 12 hours. The subsequent layer can then be applied.
