SIKA Sikafloor-390 N 25 kg – crack-bridging epoxy coating for water protection

Sikafloor-390 N is a 2-component, low-solvent, self-leveling, and elasticized epoxy resin coating with high chemical resistance. It is crack-bridging and approved as a water protection system – for protecting concrete and screed surfaces against water-polluting substances.

The system layer thickness is 1.5–3.0 mm. Sikafloor-390 N is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications and can also be applied with an anti-slip finish.

Scope of delivery: 25 kg container (component A 21.25 kg + component B 3.75 kg).

Consumption

• Floor (wearing course): approx. 1.6 kg/m² per mm layer thickness
• Wall (structured): approx. 1.2 kg/m² per layer, with 2.5–4% Stellmittel T (thickening agent)

One 25 kg container is sufficient for approx. 10 m² at a layer thickness of 1.5 mm. The exact system structure depends on the respective Sika system data sheet (e.g., MultiDur ES-39).

Processing of Sikafloor-390 N

1. Prepare the substrate

Compressive strength min. 25 N/mm², adhesive tensile strength > 1.5 N/mm². Prepare the substrate mechanically by shot blasting or diamond grinding, remove cement laitance and old coatings, repair defects with Sikafloor or Sikadur products. Pre-treat construction joints and static cracks with a strip layer.

2. Mixing

Mix only whole containers. Stir component A, add B, and mix for at least 3 minutes at max. 300 rpm (with Stellmittel T, 5 minutes in total). Decant and scrape off the edges of the mixing container.

3. Coating

Floor: Pour out material, spread with the notched trowel, and de-aerate with the spiked roller in a cross pattern. Wall: applied in two layers with a trowel, thickened with Stellmittel T.

4. Optional scattering and sealing

For a non-slip surface, scatter with quartz sand after approx. 15 minutes (at +20 °C), vacuum up excess sand after hardening, and seal.

5. Let cure

Protect freshly applied layers from moisture/dew for at least 24 hours.

Note: Epoxy resins are not permanently color-stable under UV light and weathering. According to the manufacturer, Sikafloor-390 N is intended for professional applicators; the approved system structure must be adhered to for water protection areas.
