SIKA Sikafloor-2510 W 20 kg – water-based epoxy floor coating for basements, garages & storage

Sikafloor-2510 W is a water-based, low-emission 2-component epoxy resin coating for interior use. It is low-odor during application and vapor-permeable – ideal for basement floors, hobby and utility rooms, garages, and storage areas with light to medium loads.

One product for many steps: Sikafloor-2510 W is used as a primer, pore sealer, scratch coat, roller coating, self-leveling coating, broadcast layer, and top seal. The cured surface has a satin to matte finish.

Scope of delivery: 20 kg container (component A 13.6 kg + component B 6.4 kg). Available from us in 20 RAL colors; other shades available upon request.

• Pot life: approx. 120 min at +10 °C, approx. 90 min at +20 °C, approx. 30 min at +30 °C
• Waiting time between coats: at +20 °C min. 20 h, max. 5 days
• Walkable: after approx. 20 h, light loads after approx. 3 days, fully cured after approx. 7 days (at +20 °C)
• Shelf life: 12 months, store dry at +5 °C to +30 °C

Consumption & system structure

• Primer: 0.15–0.25 kg/m² (diluted with 10 % water)
• Sealing / smooth roller coating: 1–2 coats at 0.15–0.25 kg/m² each
• Scratch coat: 1 : 0.8–1 with quartz sand 0.06–0.3 mm, approx. 1.9 kg/m² per mm
• Self-leveling coating: approx. 3.8 kg/m² (incl. quartz sand)

As a simple basement floor coating (primer + 2 roller coats), a 20 kg container covers approx. 30–40 m².

Application of Sikafloor-2510 W

1. Prepare the substrate

The substrate must be dry, clean, free of grease and oil, as well as free of laitance and loose particles (compressive strength min. 25 N/mm²). Mechanically create an open surface, e.g., by shot-blasting or grinding, and thoroughly vacuum up the dust.

2. Mixing

Mix component A briefly, add component B, and mix for 3 minutes using a paddle mixer (300–400 rpm), e.g., in a mixing bucket. Add 10 % water for the primer. Avoid over-mixing.

3. Priming

Pour out the diluted primer, distribute with a short-pile sealer roller, and back-roll crosswise wet-on-wet.

4. Coating

After the waiting time (min. 20 h at +20 °C), apply the top coat in the same manner. For self-leveling coatings, fill the material with quartz sand, distribute with a notched squeegee, and degas with a spiked roller.

5. Cleaning tools

Clean tools with water immediately after use.

Note: Sikafloor-2510 W is not a waterproofing barrier against rising or hydrostatic moisture. Light colors such as yellow or orange may require multiple coats.
