MAPEI Keracolor Plus 5 kg – fast-setting grout CG2WA with DropEffect & BioBlock

Keracolor Plus is a cementitious, polymer-modified, fast-setting grout for joints from 1 to 10 mm. Thanks to DropEffect technology, the grout is water-repellent with a beading effect and easy to clean, while BioBlock technology inhibits mold growth.

Keracolor Plus is suitable for wall and floor surfaces both indoors and outdoors – for porcelain stoneware, ceramic tiles, earthenware, clinker, natural stone, as well as glass and natural stone mosaics. The surface can be walked on after approx. 3 hours.

Scope of delivery: 5 kg aluminum bag in the selected color.

Consumption

Consumption depends on tile format, tile thickness, and joint width. Reference values according to MAPEI:

• Tile 10 × 10 cm, 7 mm thick: approx. 0.4 kg/m² (2 mm joint), 0.6 kg/m² (3 mm), 1.1 kg/m² (5 mm)
• Slab 30 × 30 cm, 20 mm thick: approx. 0.6 kg/m² (2 mm joint), 1.0 kg/m² (3 mm)

Formula: (length + width) / (length × width) × tile thickness × joint width × 1.5 = kg/m² (all dimensions in mm).

Processing of Keracolor Plus

1. Preparing the joints

Allow the adhesive to set sufficiently. Ensure joints are clean, dust-free, and raked out to at least 2/3 of the tile depth. Pre-wet highly absorbent coverings if necessary.

2. Mixing

Pour water into a container, add the powder, and mix until lump-free at a max. of 400 rpm, e.g., using a mixing bucket. Allow to slake for 2–3 minutes and mix again.

3. Grouting

Fill the joints completely and flush with the surface using a grout float, removing excess material diagonally to the joints.

4. Cleaning

After 15–30 minutes (finger test), clean diagonally to the joints using a damp tile sponge. Rinse the sponge frequently and change the water often. After drying, finish cleaning with a slightly damp sponge – do not use a dry cloth.

5. Curing

In hot, dry, or windy conditions, keep the joints slightly damp for a few hours.

Note: Expansion and connection joints should not be filled with Keracolor Plus, but with silicone such as Mapesil AC Zero. For areas with chemical exposure or high hygiene requirements, MAPEI recommends the epoxy grout Kerapoxy Easy Design. Do not mix different grout colors and do not add water to stiffened mortar.
