MAPEI Mapeflex PU 45 FT 300 ml – fast-curing polyurethane sealant and adhesive

Mapeflex PU 45 FT is a thixotropic, fast-curing, high-modulus polyurethane sealant for sealing expansion joints and for elastic bonding. It is paintable and suitable for floor and wall joints – indoors and outdoors.

With an elongation at break of 700% and a permissible total deformation of 20%, it reliably accommodates movements in structural elements.

Scope of delivery: 300 ml cartridge, individually or in a box of 12 cartridges. Available from us in colors 100 white, 111 silver grey, 113 cement grey, and 120 black.

Consumption

The yield of a 300 ml cartridge depends on the joint cross-section:

• Joint 10 × 10 mm: approx. 3 m
• Joint 15 × 10 mm: approx. 2 m
• Joint 20 × 10 mm: approx. 1.5 m

Application of Mapeflex PU 45 FT

1. Prepare the joint

The joint edges must be firm, dry, clean, and free from dust, oil, and grease. For joint widths up to 10 mm, the joint depth corresponds to the joint width. Limit the depth with a backer rod (e.g., MAPEI Mapefoam) so that the sealant only adheres to the flanks.

2. Masking

Mask the edges of the joint with painter's tape to obtain a clean edge.

3. Apply sealant

Open the cartridge, cut the nozzle to match the joint width, and apply the sealant evenly and bubble-free using a cartridge gun.

4. Smoothing

Smooth before skin formation (approx. 35 minutes), e.g., with smoothing agent and a joint spatula. Then remove the tape immediately.
