MAPEI Plastimul 2K Poly Classic 30 l – two-component, polystyrene-filled thick bitumen coating

Plastimul 2K Poly Classic is a two-component, trowel- and spray-applied, solvent-free thick bitumen coating filled with polystyrene beads. It is highly flexible, crack-bridging, and meets the requirements of EN 15814 – for waterproofing components in contact with the ground and for bonding perimeter insulation boards.

Scope of delivery: 30 l container, pre-dosed – Component A 17.6 kg + Component B 4.4 kg.

Consumption

Depending on the water exposure class, consumption is approx. 2.8–3.7 kg/m². A 30 l container (22 kg) is therefore sufficient for approx. 6–8 m².

Processing of Plastimul 2K Poly Classic

1. Prepare the substrate

The substrate must be load-bearing, clean, and free of dust and loose particles. Apply MAPEI Plastimul Primer as a primer.

2. Mixing

Add component B completely to component A and mix until homogeneous using a slow-speed mixer.

3. Application

Apply the coating within approx. 1–2 hours using a trowel or by spraying at the required wet film thickness (3.8 mm or 5.0 mm depending on the load case).

4. Let dry

Rainproof after approx. 5–6 hours. Wait for complete drying (approx. 2–3 days) before backfilling.
