MAPEI Ultracolor Plus 5 kg – Premium grout for joints up to 20 mm, interior & exterior

Ultracolor Plus is a polymer-modified, fast-setting and fast-drying grout without Portland cement. It is water-repellent with a pearl effect (DropEffect), mold-resistant (BioBlock), and ensures a uniform, lastingly beautiful joint color thanks to its anti-efflorescence effect.

Ultracolor Plus is suitable for joints up to 20 mm wide and is UV and weather-resistant – ideal for facades, balconies, terraces, and even swimming pools. MAPEI offers it in 40 colors.

Scope of delivery: 5 kg aluminum bag in the chosen color.

• Mixing water: 20–26% depending on color (approx. 1.0–1.3 l per 5 kg)
• Working time: approx. 20–30 min (+23 °C)

• Walkable: after approx. 3 hours, final strength after approx. 24 hours
• Flexural strength: 9 N/mm², Compressive strength: 35 N/mm² (28 days)
• Resistance: high against oil, solvents, and alkalis; acid-resistant at pH > 3
• Shelf life: 24 months in the unopened aluminum bag

Consumption

Depending on format and joint width, between approx. 0.1 kg/m² (60 × 60 cm, 2 mm joint) and 2.9 kg/m² (10 × 10 cm mosaic, 10 mm joint). A rough guide for 30 × 30 cm floor tiles with a 3 mm joint: approx. 0.5 kg/m².

Application of Ultracolor Plus

1. Preparing joints

Scrape out joints to at least 2/3 of the tile depth; ensure they are clean and free of dust. Grout wall tiles in a normal bed after 4–8 hours, floor tiles after approx. 24 hours.

2. Mixing

Pour water into a container, add powder, and mix at max. 400 rpm until lump-free. Allow to stand for 2–3 minutes and stir briefly again.

3. Grouting

Apply using a grouting float and finish diagonally flush with the surface.

4. Cleaning

After approx. 15–30 minutes, wash off diagonally with a damp tile sponge, and clean thoroughly after approx. 50–60 minutes with a slightly damp sponge.

Note: Do not mix with cement or other binders. Seal movement joints with Mapesil AC Zero. For porous natural stone or craquelé glazes, perform a test grouting in advance. Color deviations from the illustration are possible. All information is sourced from the MAPEI Austria technical data sheet.
