MAPEI Mapecem Pronto 25 kg – fast-drying pre-mixed mortar for rapid-setting screeds

Mapecem Pronto is a ready-to-use, fast-setting and fast-drying screed mortar of class CT-C60-F10-A1fl. It is suitable for screeds that need to be covered after a short time: ceramics after approx. 3–4 hours, parquet and resilient floor coverings after approx. 24 hours.

Due to its very high strength of over 30 MPa after just one day, Mapecem Pronto is ideal for renovations, commercial areas, and construction sites with tight schedules.

Consumption

Consumption is approx. 20 kg/m² per cm of layer thickness. For a 5 cm thick screed over 10 m², you will need approx. 1,000 kg – which is 40 bags or one full pallet.

Application of Mapecem Pronto

1. Preparing the substrate

For bonded screeds, the substrate must be load-bearing, clean, and free of dust and release agents; apply a bonding agent (e.g., MAPEI Planicrete with Mapecem Pronto) wet-on-wet. For floating screeds, lay a separation layer or insulation and install edge insulation strips such as MAPEI Mapestrip Perimeter.

2. Mixing

Mix Mapecem Pronto with approx. 1.5–2.0 l of water per bag in a forced-action mixer or screed mixer until it reaches an earth-damp consistency. Due to the short pot life, only mix as much as can be applied within 20–30 minutes.

3. Installation and compaction

Place the mortar, compact it well, and screed it off with a straight edge. Then, rub down with a float or power trowel.

4. Covering

Walkable after 2–3 hours, ready for tiles after 3–4 hours, ready for parquet and resilient floor coverings after approx. 24 hours – tile adhesive e.g., MAPEI Keraflex Extra S1.
