MAPEI Ultrabond Eco S948 1K 15 kg – elastic, solvent-free SMP parquet adhesive

Ultrabond Eco S948 1K is a single-component, ready-to-use parquet adhesive based on silylated polymers – free from water, solvents, amines, and epoxy resins. It is suitable for all types of multi-layer and pre-finished parquet as well as medium-sized solid wood planks up to 15 cm wide, and can also be used on underfloor heating systems.

The adhesive is very low-emission (EMICODE EC1 R Plus), awarded the Blue Angel label, and can also be used by installers with epoxy resin sensitivity. Since no hardener needs to be mixed, remaining quantities can be reused later if stored correctly.

Scope of delivery: 15 kg plastic bucket, ready to use. Color: light brown.

Consumption

Consumption depends on the roughness of the substrate, the back of the parquet, and the trowel notch size:

• Trowel notch TKB B3: approx. 0.8–1.0 kg/m² – a 15 kg bucket is sufficient for approx. 15–19 m²
• Trowel notch TKB B11: approx. 1.0–1.2 kg/m² – a 15 kg bucket is sufficient for approx. 12–15 m²
• Trowel notch TKB B15: approx. 1.1–1.2 kg/m² – a 15 kg bucket is sufficient for approx. 12–13 m²

Processing of Ultrabond Eco S948 1K

1. Prepare the substrate

The substrate must be dry, crack-free, level, have sufficient compressive and tensile strength, and be free from dust, release agents, wax, and oil. The residual moisture must comply with standards or the parquet manufacturer's specifications. Level out any unevenness with a leveling compound such as MAPEI Ultraplan Maxi; close cracks firmly, for example with MAPEI Eporip SCR.

2. Priming (if necessary)

Sand and prime calcium sulfate screeds. On existing tiles, natural stone, wood-based materials, or substrates with adhesive or leveling compound residues, MAPEI recommends a primer such as MAPEI Eco Prim T Plus. Prime mastic asphalt with Eco Prim PU 1K Turbo.

3. Apply adhesive

Apply the adhesive evenly to the substrate using a notched trowel suitable for the parquet format.

4. Install parquet

Install the parquet within approx. 35 minutes, press down firmly, and ensure full coverage of the back of the wood. The elements can be readjusted for up to approx. 100 minutes. Maintain an expansion joint of at least 1 cm from walls and rising structural components.

5. Cleaning and sanding

Remove any adhesive that oozes out immediately – use Cleaner L while fresh; once hardened, only mechanically. Can be walked on after approx. 12 hours, sandable after approx. 3 days.

Tip: For screed renovations prior to parquet installation, MAPEI Mapecem Pronto (parquet after 24 hours) or MAPEI Topcem Pronto (parquet after 4 days) are suitable.
